Why the name

The anaretic degree

Every sign ends at 29. Nothing placed there is by accident.

Astrologers call it the anaretic degree, the critical last degree of a sign, where completion, urgency, and mastery meet. A planet here has walked the entire length of its sign and stands at a threshold with the full experience of the journey behind it.

I named this practice for three placements in my own natal chart that live at that edge. One of them is my Venus at 29°20' Taurus, which sits among the Pleiades, the Seven Sisters. That is not branding. It is the chart I was born with, and it is how I will read yours, at the threshold.

The instruments

Light that passes close to a black hole does not escape unchanged. It bends. Some of it never comes back. In-depth work with a chart behaves the same way. I came to astrology the way most serious readers do. Trying to make sense of the life I was living. I spent years testing the chart against reality before I ever charged for a reading. What survived that testing is what you get. A structure with timing, and plain language about both.

I grew up in one LA and spent a decade in the other. Louisiana raised me, California trained me. Now I read from back home, where the sky sits low and the weather teaches you respect. Good training for actual transits.

If the chart and your experience disagree, I say so. If a placement is difficult, I don't sugarcoat. I name it as hard and then show you how to work with it.
